La vida requiere que pasemos partes de nuestro tiempo haciendo ciertas cosas. Algunas veces trabajamos, en ocasiones vamos a la escuela; somos hijos o padres y amigos parte del tiempo. La única área de la vida que no se puede dirigir con base en parte del tiempo es la vida espiritual. Ser un cristiano, un budista, un musulmán, un taoísta o cualquier otra cosa, parte del tiempo, resulta en "una casa dividida en contra de sí misma", que no se puede sostener. La casa espiritual es la mente y requiere de un cuidado constante. La convicción espiritual es la manera en la cual se corre la casa. Cuando tenemos una convicción espiritual, nos servirá en todas las situaciones, todo el día, todos los días, en todas las formas. El mismo espíritu que guía nuestra vida familiar debe correr también nuestra vida social. Si acudimos al espíritu por guía financiera, debemos pedir también por guía profesional. Si dejamos que el espíritu seleccione nuestras amistades, debemos confiarle la selección de nuestro compañero o compañera. La espiritualidad parte del tiempo crea disturbio interior, indecisión, confusión y estancamiento. Una vez que permitimos que el espíritu se encargue por tiempo completo, encontraremos que la vida es más agradable y pacífica que lo que pensamos siempre.

Life requires that we spend parts of our time doing certain things. We work sometimes, go to school at times; we are children or parents and friends part time. The one area of life that cannot be addressed on a part-time basis is the spiritual life. To be a part time Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Taoist or anything else results in "a house divided against itself", which cannot stand. The spiritual house is the mind and it requires constant care. Spiritual conviction is the manner in which the house is run . When we have a spiritual conviction, it will serve us in all situations all day, every day, in every way. The same spirit that guides our famly life must also run our social life. If we turn to spirit for financial guidance, we must also ask for professional guidance. If we let spirit pick our friends, we must trust it to pick our mate. Part-time spirituality creates inner turmoil, indecision, confusion and stagnation. Once we let spirit take over full time, we will find life is more enjoyable and peaceful than ever thought possible.
